Note that most features introduced in the new Player depend on the presence of the NX 4 installation on the server. If you want to get a real sense of what NX 4 will be like, please be sure you install NX Player on your local device and NX Virtual Desktop Workstation on the remote computer you want to access.

Known bugs and limitations of the NX 4 Preview The preview releases are aimed at gathering feedback and bug reports from current users of the NoMachine software. The NX 4 software is still in heavy development and the feature set can change at the time the final software will be released. We know that the software is buggy, so use at your own risk. If you plan to upgrade from version 3, please be sure you read the installation notes. The following limitations apply to this preview release. Support for login using the HTTP service. In the current release only connections by SSH are supported. Custom session types, e.g. rootless sessions, are not available. Some connection options (like support for HTTP proxy based connections) are not available. Server-side packages available for Linux only. Client-side packages available for Windows, Mac and Linux only. Additionally, the following limitations apply to the NX Player: USB forwarding on Windows and Linux platforms is still incomplete and has not been included. SMB based folders and printer sharing is still incomplete and has not been included. Support for printing files from the client on the server does not work in the current release. Support for fullscreen on multiple monitors is still under development. Session recording and playback is still incomplete and has not been included.
