The new NX multimedia framework is fully integrated with the most recent versions of Linux (by relying on PulseAudio sound server or ALSA). It is operative also on Solaris where it uses OSS, on Windows and on Mac OS X systems. It does not require any user interaction with the configuration of the sound server or client. Audio and voice volume, quality settings and output devices can be tuned from within the running session via the NX toolbar at any moment.

Compatibility with ESD sound server and audio support provided by NX 3.5.0 is preserved.

Voice capturing

In addition to audio playback, NX 4 supports microphone and voice capturing. Quality of audio and microphone can be tuned via the NX toolbar.
