Built-in Session Recording and Playback

Among the new features introduced by NX 4, there is the possibility to record the session.

The start, pause and stop of recording can be managed via the NX toolbar, a rollaway utility bar that allows the user to access session settings and services.

Registered sessions are saved by default in WebM format. Ogg and MPEG-1 formats are supported too.

However, the video file of the session can be played also by the NX built-in video player. Access to the control panel for managing the play of the video is available from the NX toolbar.

To create a video the NX agent adopts a similar method to the implementation behind the streaming of videos . The encoding format is the same, the difference is that the encoded frames are not streamed through the transport layer, but they are written to a file.

Similarly, playback of an NX session video file in NX Player uses the same libraries as those adopted in video streaming for encoding and decoding.
