Users can now run a Virtual Desktop session or access their remote desktop from any internet-enabled
mobile device thanks to NX Web Player, which runs the graphical session in the Web browser.
NX Web Player detects which browser is being used and on which operating system it is
running through the browser's user agent string. Based on this information, the Web Player then
provides a version optimized for mobile devices. Due to the wide range of embedded browsers that
may or may not support Javascript technologies such as jQuery or AJAX, NX Web Player provides
different versions according to the browser capabilities.
The main features sported by the Web Player user interface and created expressly
for mobile devices are:
- A button in the upper right corner that hides and shows the NX utility
toolbar to interact with the session and open tools such as the virtual keyboard
and the virtual clipboard.
- The NX virtual keyboard to be able to write inside the session.
- The NX virtual clipboard, a kind of blackboard to copy&paste content from
the device to remote and vice-versa.
- In the case of Apple devices such as iPhone or iPad, the Web Player uses some
meta-tags to fit the gyroscope.
