About the Company

Steinhafels is the largest furniture and mattress retailer in Wisconsin and continues to grow and expand. Since 1934, Steinhafels Furniture has been a family-owned business providing quality home furnishings, mattresses and home décor to Southeastern Wisconsin. Steinhafels has six locations and employs over 600 people.

The Challenge

Steinhafels wanted to improve the experience they give customers at their store and better meet their needs. They decided to introduce a self-service credit application process that would provide immediate credit approval via their 125 thin client workstations set up to run in kiosk mode. This new process allows customers to privately and securely complete credit applications quickly in the store, permitting on-the-spot approval which allows customers to instantly start using their credit lines.

The previous credit application system being used by Steinhafels was a manual and time-consuming process that was an inconvenience for the customers. Steinhafels wanted to improve customer service by simplifying this process, which would have the effect of increasing credit sales. NX has exceeded Steinhafels' expectations in accomplishing this goal.

The Solution

Steinhafels uses NX technology developed by NoMachine to present the credit application in kiosk mode from centrally managed Linux Application Servers, which are maintained in the centralized corporate data center. When NX session connections are made from store terminals, the consumer credit application launches automatically, and presents itself to the customer on these NX thin clients.

Results
