Providing a web based product, namely the NoMachine Cloud Server, to access sessions via the browser

Implemented in NoMachine 4.0.346. The original name of the product, Portal Server has been changed to Cloud Server.

The Cloud Server package provides a  web application written in Perl and C++, namely nxwebplayer. This application is an alternative to the client (i.e. the player installed locally) for accessing the session via Web.

Just a browser is necessary on the local device to connect securely to the NoMachine server and get a session active inside the browser.

NoMachine Cloud Server, a quick view on the front-end

The web interface is made up of a web client GUI which guides the user through the phases of starting the connection on the NoMachine Server to the visualization of the requested session inside the browser.

NoMachine CloudServer, how it works

Once the installation of the Cloud Server has been completed successfully, the web application is ready to be used to give access to that host machine.

Access that machine through Cloud Server by pointing the browser to http://serverHost:4080 where serverHost is either the IP or hostname of the machine where NoMachine Cloud Server is installed.

Supported browsers

The Cloud Server should work with the most common browsers that supports JavaScript on the different platforms supported by NoMachine: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Konqueror and Netscape and even with the embedded browser used on most mobile phones.
