NoMachine 6.0.78 now available

NoMachine makes available updated version 6 packages aimed at solving some issues affecting the previous release, and to consolidate recent hardening measures on macOS. This release, 6.0.78, provides enhancements dedicated to web-based sessions including the possibility to start and reconnect virtual Linux desktops automatically.

Enhancements available are:

FR11O03551 - Preventing search engines from indexing content of web sessions
FR11O03544 - Starting and reconnecting virtual Linux desktops automatically in a web sessions

The complete list of fixes available in this release are:

TR01P08378 - 'Connecting to...' loading wheel is presented when connecting to a child server without NoMachine sessions already running
TR12O08306 - Auto-reconnection fails after awakening a closed laptop from sleep
TR01P08365 - Connection via web are terminated when connecting to a Cloud Server's child server
TR12O08323 - Drag&drop from server to client doesn't work reliably in web sessions
TR12O08303 - NVENC produces big data streams
TR12O08309 - Server log file growing rapidly
TR12O08340 - The remote screen is not resized to the browser's resolution
TR01P08347 - Unexpected output is printed when checking an expired subscription
TR02P08396 - The session's display agent can be launched as privileged user on Mac
TR07O07920 - File transfer speed drops when copying files from Linux to a Windows drive

Installations of version 6 can proceed with using automatic updates from within the User Interface.

Due to the changes introduced by Apple which has dropped support for 10.5 and 10.6 in recent compilers, NoMachine has discontinued support for those OS X versions. It will still be possible to request packages specifically built for 10.5 and 10.6 under the provisions of a support contract.

 

Download NoMachine Packages

You can download the latest packages suitable for your Operating System from the NoMachine Web site at the following URL:

Customers with valid subscriptions should log in to their customer area and download the "Production version". The procedure of downloading and installing Update Version packages is now obsolete.


Automatic updates

The automatic check for updates is scheduled to check our repositories every two days.

To update the free NoMachine package:

- Open the NoMachine User Interface from your Programs Menu.

- Click on 'Settings', then on the 'Server preferences' and finally on 'Updates'.

- Then click on the 'Check now' button.

To update the NoMachine Enterprise Client immediately:

- Click on 'Settings' and 'Updates'.

- Then click on the 'Check now' button.

Manual package update

Please follow the instructions to update your installation manually:

On Windows:

- Download and save the EXE file.
- Double click on the NoMachine executable file.
- As for the installation, the Setup Wizard will take you through all steps necessary for updating NoMachine.

On Mac OS X:

- Download and save the DMG file.
- Double-click on the Disk Image to open it and double-click on the NoMachine program icon.
- As for the installation, the Installer will take you through through all steps necessary for updating NoMachine.

On Linux:

You can use the graphical package manager provided by your Linux distribution or update NoMachine by command line by following instructions below.
If you don't have the sudo utility installed, log on as superuser ("root") and run the commands without sudo.

RPM

- Download and save the RPM file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

# rpm -Uvh <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.rpm

DEB

- Download and save the DEB file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

$ sudo dpkg -i <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.deb

TAR.GZ

- Download and save the TAR.GZ file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

$ cd /usr
$ sudo tar xvzf <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.tar.gz
$ sudo /usr/NX/nxserver --update

If you are installing Enterprise Client or Node run respectively:

$ sudo /usr/NX/nxclient --update
$ sudo /usr/NX/nxnode --update
