NoMachine version 4.6.18 now available

Luxembourg, November 12th, 2015

NoMachine makes available today a software update for users of version 4 aimed at solving some issues affecting the previous release. The new version, 4.6.18, provides fixes for the following problems:

TR10M06158 - A sudden termination of the virtual desktop occurs with NoMachine server v. 4.6.x
TR09M06000 - A wrong password is submitted multiple times when two-factor authentication is in use
TR07M05746 - Background color of cell comments or tooltips is not rendered with some X applications
TR05M05431 - Black screen occurs when connecting to Mac OS X after that the machine has been rebooted
TR08M05905 - Cannot add the user to a group if the user is already in the NoMachine users db
TR06M05555 - Cannot copy all files when disks are connected to Windows
TR10M06092 - Clients are not redirected when connecting by NX protocol with key or ticket-based authentication
TR10M06073 - Connections to NoMachine fails with “The connection with the server was lost” after some hours of activity
TR06M05584 - Installation of an RPM server package over a NoMachine Enterprise Client package is not blocked
TR08M05962 - Reconnecting a session stucks on "Connecting to virtual desktop"
TR10M06099 - System updates cannot be installed on Windows 10 when NoMachine is present
TR08M05887 - The 'nxserver --disconnect' command terminates the virtual desktop instead of disconnecting it
TR08M05941 - The physical desktop is not available when connecting to NoMachine 4.6.12 on CentOS
TR09M06021 - The physical desktop is not available when the default display manager is SDDM
TR09M05984 - The server connection monitor doesn't reconnect to the remote node if connection is lost while the node is stopped

Download NoMachine Packages

You can obtain these latest packages suitable for your Operating System either by using the automatic updates system available in the version 4 software already installed, or via the customer area. Customers with valid subscriptions should log in to their customer area and download the appropriate "Update version".

 

Automatic updates

The automatic check for updates will check for version 4 updates provided version 4 is installed.

To update any of the NoMachine servers immediately:

- Run the NoMachine GUI from your Programs Menu.

- Click on 'Preferences' and 'Updates'.

- Then click on the 'Check now' button.

To update the NoMachine Enterprise Client immediately:

- Click on 'Preferences' and 'Updates'.

- Then click on the 'Check now' button.

Manual package update

Please follow the instructions to update your installation manually:

On Windows:

- Download and save the EXE file.
- Double click on the NoMachine executable file.
- As for the installation, the Setup Wizard will take you through all steps necessary for updating NoMachine.

On Mac OS X:

- Download and save the DMG file.
- Double-click on the Disk Image to open it and double-click on the NoMachine program icon.
- As for the installation, the Installer will take you through through all steps necessary for updating NoMachine.

On Linux:

You can use the graphical package manager provided by your Linux distribution or update NoMachine by command line by following instructions below.
If you don't have the sudo utility installed, log on as superuser ("root") and run the commands without sudo.

RPM

- Download and save the RPM file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

# rpm -Uvh <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.rpm

DEB

- Download and save the DEB file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

$ sudo dpkg -i <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.deb

TAR.GZ

- Download and save the TAR.GZ file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

$ cd /usr
$ sudo tar xvzf <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.tar.gz
$ sudo /usr/NX/nxserver --update

If you are installing Enterprise Client or Node run respectively:

$ sudo /usr/NX/nxclient --update
$ sudo /usr/NX/nxnode --update
