Unselected objects are not darkened in a Cadence project with the dimming option enabled

When the dimming option is enabled in Cadence virtuoso, the selected objects remain clear, while the non-selected objects will become darker. In a NoMachine virtual desktop, this works only when the first object is selected. Switching focus to a different object doesn't make the first object being dimmed.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1) Open the layout view of the sample cell.
You need to have there two polygons of the y0 layer.
2) Select [Options] -> [Display] from the layout menu.
3) Turn on the "Enable Dimming" checkbox in the "Dimming" column in the lower right.
4) Select one polygon in the layout (*)
The selected polygon is clearly displayed, and the polygon not selected is darkened.
5) You select the next polygon.

Expected result is that the newly selected polygon is clearly displayed, and the polygon first selected gets darker. In a NoMachine session instead, both the newly selected polygon and the polygon first selected are clearly displayed.

(*) When polygon can not be selected:
Right-click the [Background drawing] pull-down part of the left pillar of the layout editor and select [Edit Valid Layers].
Click [S] and [v] in the Layer list, and check the check boxes of all the layers.
