Cannot enable hardware acceleration in Chromium browser with VirtualGL

When trying to run Chromium browser under the VirtualGL provision in order to offload the 3D rendering on GPU, the application issues the following messages:

[30487:30487:0121/095230.710129:ERROR:gl_surface_glx.cc(129)] Failed to get GLXConfig [30487:30487:0121/095230.710347:ERROR:gl_surface_glx.cc(475)] CreateDummyWindow(gfx::GetXDisplay()) failed [30487:30487:0121/095230.710359:ERROR:gl_initializer_x11.cc(148)] GLSurfaceGLX::InitializeOneOff failed. [30487:30487:0121/095230.713577:ERROR:viz_main_impl.cc(180)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization [30502:4:0121/095232.088568:ERROR:child_process_sandbox_support_impl_linux.cc(79)] FontService unique font name matching request did not receive a response. [30502:4:0121/095232.089116:ERROR:child_process_sandbox_support_impl_linux.cc(79)] FontService unique font name matching request did not receive a response.

This problem is due to unusual ordering of NoMachine visuals, incompatible with VirtualGL interception code.
