NoMachine connects to Mac virtual session instead of physical desktop

When you connect to a Mac via Apple Remote Desktop, and try to login as a user which is different to the user that is using the physical desktop in that moment, the Mac creates what we call a "virtual session".

If a user then connects to the same host via NoMachine, the NoMachine client erroneously tries to connect to this "virtual session", instead of connecting to the Mac's physical desktop.

N.B: Many users have asked why NoMachine doesn't use this feature to create a perfectly working NoMachine Terminal Server for the Mac. It would be easy and very useful, but the MacOS EULA explicitly forbids it.
