    Hi,

I am running RHEL 7 with GNOME desktop.  Whenever I try and change settings (I want to enable SSH), I am being asked for an admin password.  I don’t recall setting up an administrator, and am not sure if launching the services GUI as sudo (or how I would do that) will help.

Is there a default admin password set during the rpm installation?

    Many thanks

    Hello indy2005.

If you are asked only for password, is very likely your user belongs to the administrators’s group. So just typing your password should work.

If it didn’t, check the “sudoer” abilities of your user by the command “sudo -l”.

RPM installation doesn’t set any default password.
