How to start NoMachine from command line?

I’m using the free version on Mint Debian with the Cinnamon desktop. I had some kind of glitch that ate my start-menu entries so I couldn’t figure out how to start NoMachine – had to reinstall (with the latest version) just to get the menu entries back. Checking the properties of the restored menu entries I saw that the commands appear to be

/usr/NX/bin/nxplayer  – for the program itself

/usr/NX/bin/nxclient -admin  – for the “service” monitor

My question is: are these sufficient? It’s useful to have this information in case the menu items get blown away again. And BTW, what is the significance of the NX “player” designation?

The commands you’ve suggested are correct, I’d just use the two-dashes options format because the single dash is deprecated.

/usr/NX/bin/nxclient –admin

As for the name, you can think at the player as a tool to “play” your remote content, whatever it is.
