ID: FR03M02899 Priority: Low
Products: NoMachine Server Target: 7
Status: Implemented

Support for key-based authentication with a key stored on a PCKS11 smart card (already available for connections by SSH) should be extended also to connections by NX protocol.

To use this new authentication method, users have to:

- Launch NoMachine on their device and right click on the connection icon.

- Then choose 'Edit the connection' to enter the configuration panel.

- In the 'Address' panel, select NX as protocol.

- In the 'Configuration' panel

- Choose 'Use key-based authentication with a PKCS11 smart card.

The authentication method can be set in a similar way also when creating a new connection by means of the 'Add' button.

Note for macOS users:
in order to support smartcard authentication it's necessary to install OpenSC on the user's mac. Some instructions are available at: http://macappstore.org/opensc/
