Rome, Italy, October 18, 2011 - NoMachine is aware of some issue that may affect the NX sessions running on the newest Ubuntu release, Oneiric Ocelot:

  The system menu may be missing in a NX session running on Ubuntu 11.10 if the desktop environment is Unity 3D

  Some icons are missing in an NX session running the Unity 2D Desktop from Ubuntu 11.10

  The User menu may be missing in the gnome-panel when the NX session is running the Unity 2D desktop on ubuntu 11.10

  The application menu may be unusable when the desktop is Unity 2D from Ubuntu 11.10

Users are kindly invited to consult links above to obtain further details about current issues and check if workarounds exist. The TRs also provide targets to indicate when the official fix will be or has been released.

Please note also that NX 3.5.0 is not able to support Unity 3D, the Ubuntu default desktop environment, and has to rely on its fallback for X servers without 3D graphics capabilities (Unity 2D in case of Ubuntu 11.10). Supporting Unity 3D is however a target for the NX 4 release. More information are available here: FR06I02466.
