NoMachine 5.1.22 now available

NoMachine makes available today a software update solving some issues affecting the previous release. Additionally, a number of improvements have been implemented such as the possibility to disable certain functionalities in the session menu, and creating a trusted user group to make desktop collaboration easier.

The new version, namely 5.1.22, implements the following:

FR04N03093 - Adding a RSA key pair for the NoMachine login
FR03N03060 - Renaming the "SectionSession" directive in the cloud.cfg file
FR03N03072 - Implement pressing "Esc" key exists a dialog
FR03N03076 - Letting administrators enable RGB stream compression for virtual sessions in lightweight mode
FR09M02966 - Making the disconnect/terminate dialog available for virtual desktops not in lightweight mode
FR10M02973 - Adding support for password change requests when connecting by NX protocol
FR03N03079 - Porting NoMachine Web Companion to Java Web Start
FR02J02671 - Allowing trusted users to connect to the desktop without requiring owner's approval
FR05J02679 - Lock down the NoMachine menu inside the session and other features
FR03N03063 - Connecting the default printer from client side to the remote host automatically

Fixes available are for the following:

TR03N06654 - Font size is smaller when connecting by NX Client 3.5.0 to NoMachine server 5.1
TR04N06711 - Cannot interact any longer with the remote desktop after sending or receiving a file
TR03N06559 - "Error is 22: Invalid argument" is given when connecting using key-based authentication
TR02N06527 - Authorization is requested also when the connecting user is the remote desktop owner
TR03N06600 - The 'nxserver --disconnect' command doesn't work as expected
TR03N06602 - Users cannot reconnect a virtual desktop after a network disconnection

Download NoMachine Packages

You can download the latest packages suitable for your Operating System from the NoMachine Web site at the following URL:

http://www.nomachine.com/download

Customers with valid subscriptions should log in to their customer area and download the "Update version" for their "Production Version".


Automatic updates

The automatic check for updates has been enabled since version 4.6.3 and is scheduled to check our repositories every two days.

To update any of the NoMachine servers immediately:

- Run the NoMachine GUI from your Programs Menu.

- Click on 'Preferences' and 'Updates'.

- Then click on the 'Check now' button.

To update the NoMachine Enterprise Client immediately:

- Click on 'Preferences' and 'Updates'.

- Then click on the 'Check now' button.

Manual package update

Please follow the instructions to update your installation manually:

On Windows:

- Download and save the EXE file.
- Double click on the NoMachine executable file.
- As for the installation, the Setup Wizard will take you through all steps necessary for updating NoMachine.

On Mac OS X:

- Download and save the DMG file.
- Double-click on the Disk Image to open it and double-click on the NoMachine program icon.
- As for the installation, the Installer will take you through through all steps necessary for updating NoMachine.

On Linux:

You can use the graphical package manager provided by your Linux distribution or update NoMachine by command line by following instructions below.
If you don't have the sudo utility installed, log on as superuser ("root") and run the commands without sudo.

RPM

- Download and save the RPM file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

# rpm -Uvh <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.rpm

DEB

- Download and save the DEB file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

$ sudo dpkg -i <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.deb

TAR.GZ

- Download and save the TAR.GZ file.
- Update your NoMachine installation by running:

$ cd /usr
$ sudo tar xvzf <pkgName>_<pkgVersion>_<arch>.tar.gz
$ sudo /usr/NX/nxserver --update

If you are installing Enterprise Client or Node run respectively:

$ sudo /usr/NX/nxclient --update
$ sudo /usr/NX/nxnode --update
