Loading a Configuration or Recording File with NoMachine Player
Start your journey to the next level of network computing
NoMachine connection files and recordings can be loaded directly to the Machines panel of the NoMachine Player. This is extremely useful when you have been provided with a pre-configured session file (.nxs or .nxw extensions), for example, which is perhaps stored in another folder location and you want to add it to your list of NoMachine connections. Similarly, recordings made using NoMachine's recording tool (identifiable with the .nxr and .nxv extensions) can also be added to the Machines panel for easy access and played back using the Player.
- Go to the Machines panel of your NoMachine installation. The Machines panel stores your session files.
- You can reach the Machines panel from the Monitor !M icon in the system tray by selecting 'Show main window'.

- In 'Add connection', click the link at the bottom of the panel 'Load a configuration or a recording file'.
- NoMachine opens the operating system's explorer to allow you to locate the connection file.
- Connection files are identified with the .nxs or .nxw extensions. This tutorial uses the .nxs connection file as an example.
- Select the connection file you want to load to the Player.

- From here you can choose to connect or modify the connection's configuration further if required (Fig. 6) by clicking 'Edit'.
- The 'Edit connection' panel lets you change the connection name, host and authentication settings. It also shows you details about the remote NoMachine server in ‘Info’.
